Black Panther Medicine Helps Us Find Our Way Through the Darkness

Change is in the air for this wonderful woman as she continues to claim her rightful authority to express her true self without shame to the world.

Change is a really funny thing, especially when it happens to our relationships. There was a great explanation that came my way the other day about relationships, that being the moment we start to enter a friendship or otherwise we begin a dance with the other person. We each learn the steps of the relationship, such as boundaries, likes, dislikes, commonalities, etc., and we can count on the friendship lasting so as long as the dance stays the same. But when one person changes, they change the steps. The other person looses the motion of the dance. They don’t understand what’s going on and we get out of sync with one another; start stepping on each other’s toes. Our dance partner will either adapt and learn the new dance, or they will sabotage or trigger the newly changed individual to returning back to the familiar steps they recognize. An example of this will be an alcoholic who has gone sober, or an unhealthy friendship dynamic where one person is always the helper and the other is always the victim.

When I began to learn who I was in a spiritual way, all of my relationships shifted. I had surrounded myself with people who just jammed on drinking, which was totally fine— that’s just what we did when we got together. We drank, we ate, we’d post pictures of it. That was the routine. That was the dance.

Then in 2013, I had a spontaneous kundalini awakening and now suddenly all I want to do is ingest everything I can about Spirit and my gifts. I want to learn about crystals and energy and my life, and I want to deeply connect with others who are choosing to do the same. My old friendships and community didn’t support that. We got out of sync. We lost our rhythm.

There were some friends who were ready to awaken too would subsequently shift in their own ways, because that’s what happens. When we awaken, our vibration lifts. Others lift with us, or they don’t. There’s always a choice. Many people still wanted to be where they were; ties were both mended and cut. It was sad, but it’s life. All we can do is march on.

It’s important to recognize that change is a really big deal, and the nature of change in relationships is true for all relationships we have. Our relationship with our work, our relationship to our family, home, selves... it’s all a dance. When we shift our steps is when we feel uncomfortable.

The best thing we can do is act in our highest integrity, allow time to pass to heal and settle things (otherwise known as integrating the change), and work to create a new dance to support our new vibration and lifestyle.
